About Your Visit

Appointments

Our staff is dedicated to serving our patients with care and respect. At OrthoSC office hours are by appointment from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekdays. You may schedule an appointment with Dr. Massey.

When you come for an appointment, please bring all x-rays and MRI images relating to your present condition as well as a list of any medications you are currently taking. While we always attempt to adhere to your scheduled appointments, emergency situations sometimes arise and require that appointments be rescheduled. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Please notify us if you decide to cancel your appointment so that we may schedule another patient.

Emergencies

One of the surgeons from OrthoSC is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you have an emergency and are seen in a hospital emergency room, ER physicians are well trained and will be able to perform the initial care. They then make referrals based on the needs of the patient and preferences. If the orthopaedic injury is severe or complicated, Dr. Massey or other surgeons in his practice will be available to respond to the ER Physician’s request.

Insurance Information

Dr. Massey is a Medicare provider and accepts assignment for his Medicare patients. OrthoSC accepts most major insurances.

Fees & Payments

We make every effort to decrease the cost of your medical care. Therefore, we request payment arrangements for all office services at the time they are rendered unless prior arrangements have been made. We accept cash, checks, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover for your convenience. When we are a participating provider of your insurance company, we will bill them. However, payment is the patient’s responsibility. We will help in any way we can to assist you in handling claims.

Please request all prescriptions and authorizations for renewals during normal business hours, when our full records are available. Renewals requested at other times will be filled only for extreme or emergent circumstances.
